During my time as a teacher I was a classroom teacher, in a tested area. I planned and aligned lessons in accordance with the North Carolina Common Core and Essential Standards. I also worked to implement STEM strategies, reading in the content area, and best practices. I was a leader in local and district PLCs for vertical, grade level, and content short-term and long-term curriculum planning

Some of the counseling services I have provided include direct counseling through individual and small groups, consultation and collaboration with parents, and indirect services with teachers through staff development and MTSS team leadership. One of the primary goals I have as a counselor is to help create, implement, monitor, and assess a comprehensive school counseling program that is based on the needs of all students; allowing them to achieve the most positive educational, career, and socio-emotional outcomes.
